Vast possibilities of RTLS technology application are based on the basic function: to provide information about the tracked object location in real-time or based on historical data including data measured by sensors.
If mobile equipment is shared by multiple users, it is often time-consuming to find such equipment. By using Westico Visibility technology it is possible in such cases to achieve significant time and operational savings. Significant savings can be achieved also in amount of investments, because if the device does not have to be laboriously sought before its use, there is no need for such quantity and significantly less number of devices may be sufficient. Typical use for example is in healthcare industry to monitor the movement of precious mobile devices such as IV pumps, vital signs monitor, but also the beds or wheelchairs.
Tag W100 can be worn hung on the neck or attached using a clip to clothing or belt. Knowledge of the current position and historical data can be used e.g. for monitoring of the security guard routes, campus visitors and employees. By an appropriate definition of the rules it can be monitored the emergence of controlled events such as the visitor's entry into the restricted area or the exit from the workplace.
Westico Visibility technology can be used to improve the safety of people: it may be deployed to monitor the current or last known location of the miners in mines, monitoring patients in a sanatorium and medical institutions, monitoring of children in kindergartens and amusement parks. Buttons on the tag can be programmed for summoning help in an emergency call.
In the logistics campuses there are moving large amounts of their own means of transport, handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet trucks, transport trucks and platforms. Also into these campuses there are daily entering a large number of cars and trucks for the purpose of loading or unloading. By permanent marking of transportation and handling equipment and temporary marking of foreign cars at the entrance of the complex it is possible to track and control the movement of the area accurately.
Within the logistics supply chains, there is large amount of trucks, containers and shipments flown through distribution centers, facilities or other logistical hubs. The ability to monitor the current position of these units in real-time creates significant opportunities for improving the management of the entire supply chain. In addition, in case of sensitive goods the conditions such as temperature or humidity can be monitored.
With built-in sensors the conditions during transport can be tracked in detail and accurately. Sensors monitor temperature, humidity, impact, motion. For each measurement precise time information is stored. Data from the sensors are stored in the tag memory and in a moment of return to a home WiFi network, the data are transferred to the server and evaluated. Tags are able to transfer data to Westico Sensor Server also using a foreign or public wireless networks (hotspots), which are open to anonymous users.
By using tags with sensors a network of data collection can be created very effectively, for example, storage temperature monitoring in large-scale areas. The system automatically collects and evaluates data, and responds to the events by pre-defined way. For each sensor can be defined limits. When reaching these limits, the system will respond by defined manner. With external sensors can be measured practically any variable such as pressure, flow rate or radiation. If there is in an enterprise Westico Visibility System installed, the possibility of collecting data from sensors is extremely convenient, offering high added value practically for free - only at price of tags. Beneficial usage can be found in food processing, health care and pharmaceutical industries.
Tag Westico W100 is equipped with two buttons and two LED indicators. It can be assigned any application importance to each button. As soon as the button is pressed, the system triggers a defined event. This feature can be useful for example to create an electronic Kanban system. At each mounting workplace there might be W100 tag installed, pressing the button causes the automatic generation of requirement to replenish the material to this workplace.
